Introducing Climate Wiki: Eco-Social Media for the Climate Revolution
After a year of quiet hard work, Branch Out is excited to announce that Climate Wiki is now entering its public beta test phase — and you are invited to participate!
Climate Wiki is rooted in collaboration with all relatives and movements striving to liberate and regenerate the Earth from centuries of systematic devastation. The need for a climate revolution is now established scientific consensus, as per the United Nations’ IPCC reports in 2022-2023:
"There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a livable and sustainable future for all ... Rapid and far-reaching transitions across all sectors and systems are necessary to achieve deep and sustained emissions reductions.”
“Targeting a climate-resilient, sustainable world involves fundamental changes to how society functions, including changes to underlying values, world-views, ideologies, social structures, political and economic systems, and power relationships.”
"The systemic change required to achieve rapid and deep emissions reductions and transformative adaptation to climate change is unprecedented in terms of scale”
Climate Wiki takes this need for systematic change as its starting point. Today it is ready for you to jump in, explore, and share your knowledge - with over 300 pages and counting. Its model is the knowledge commons: a community garden for growing an organic intellectual revolution.
The scope of our task is vast, and time is running out. Climate Wiki helps to condense vast troves of scientific research, mobilize land restoration and community empowerment, and imagine the fundamental interruptions and transitions needed to resolve the climate crisis.
Whether you are eager and ready to sign up and contribute, or are just curious and want to browse its many pages and resources, we invite you to join us today at https://www.climatewiki.earth
